Scams Circulating on Twitter

Hi all users, Security researchers warn Twitter users to be on the lookout for survey scams which are advertised by fake Draw Something accounts.

As many people already know, with great power comes great responsibility and with great popularity come, well, cybercriminals and their malicious operations.

Sophos experts found a number of shady Twitter accounts named “Draw Something,” based on the popular social drawing and guessing game that’s loved by hundreds of millions of smartphone owners worldwide.

“You have been chosen! Claim your prize [LINK],” reads one of the tweets.

“Your a lucky Prize winner! [LINK],” reads another.

In reality, no one ever wins the 5000 prizes promised by the false posts. Instead, Twitter customers who click on the links are taken to a site where they are requested to answer a few questions.

“Congratulations Draw Something Fan. You’ve Been Randomly Selected! Please answer a few quick questions about Draw Something. To thank you We will give you a FREE Gift worth over $500,” reads a message on the website.

Scammers Target Facebook Users in Polymorphic Attack

Malicious Facebook advertisements usually lead users to survey scams, pieces of malware, phishing sites and other types of dangerous cybercriminal schemes. However, Bitdefender experts came across a polymorphic attack that could end in any of these scenarios.

The attack starts by promising users an alleged adult video. Once the link from the shady post is clicked, the user is taken to a site that replicates Facebook. Here, the victim is requested to install a Divx plugin for the browser, which is supposedly needed to view the much promised footage.

The clever thing about this page is this message: Temporarily disable your antivirus to continue (false alarm).

With this alert, the cybercrooks hope to determine users to ignore the potential warnings that their antivirus solutions may display.



When the install plugin button is pressed, the internaut is served with a rogue YouTube extension that basically takes control of the browser.

After the browser extension is installed, the whole fun starts, and with it, the user experiences firsthand the effects of a polymorphic attack.

It not only takes over the victims’ profile to Like and Share other malicious advertisements on their behalf, but it also takes control of the browser and starts serving other malicious elements.

“This is an interesting and quite complex type of scam. In data security lingo, this would qualify as a polymorphic attack, which basically means that the malicious content served can be changed by the attacker thanks to the browser extension installed,” explained Andrei Serbanoiu, Bitdefender online threats analyst programmer.

“If one user lands on the adult chat page, another may reach the malware downloader or even a whole different web page set up for phishing.”

Users are advised never to install browser extensions that come from untrusted sources, and more recently, even the ones that come from legitimate websites may turn out to be malicious.

How to DOX Somone ?

Hi all users today we're here with a  quick and I think very simple tutorial on doxing. You’re probably thinking, “Okay, so basically it’s getting information from searching someone’s email on Google right?” in a sense yes, but there are actually easier ways to get someone’s information online, which you're going to learn on this tutorial . So lets get started.

How to get IP address?

I suggest using http://whatstheirip.com

On this website, you enter your e-mail, and you get a set of links. Pick any link, copy and paste, and give the link to your slave saying something similar to this "LOL THIS IS HILARIOUS". Once clicked, the IP will be sent to your e-mail

If your slave has e-mailed you, you can get the IP from looking at the e-mail source. To look at the e-mail source for Windows Live users, right click on the message, and click 'View Message Source'. When you're looking at the source, look for this: 'Received: by' It will show you an IP address. This is the IP address of your slave.

If your slave has commented on your blog (wordpress or blogspot) you can view the IP address by looking in your comments.

Once you have the IP address of your slave, go to http://ipaddress.com and enter the IP of your slave. You now have the location, zip code, state, country, ISP, and operating system. Fill all this in your notepad and keep going.

How to get e-mail?

If you do not have trust of your slave, Google the user and put @ at the end. Example: 'username' @. If the user has posted their e-mail on any website, it should come up and you can find his e-mail.

If you do have trust of your slave, make a new msn account(if you don't want them having your main msn), have him/her add you on msn. You now have the e-mail of your slave.

Facebook:

Put in the e-mail of your slave in Facebook search. If your slave uses Facebook, you can find out (at the minimum) their name. If your slave uses Facebook but does not protect their information, you can find out loads of information.

The PayPal Method:

When you have the e-mail of your slave, login to PayPal. Transfer .01 USD to the e-mail of your slave. When sent, you will have all of the information on the PayPal account. (Name, address, phone, etc.)

Tracing Photos:

If your slave has photos online, save the photo and go to a website named http://tineye.com
On this website, upload the picture of your slave. When it is finished, you can find if this photo is uploaded on any other websites. You can also find out if the photo is fake.

Address:

If you have the name of your slave, it is possible you can find the address of your slave. I suggest using the following websites:

    http://whitepages.com

Using these websites you can also find out their phone.

WHOIS:

If your slave has a website, put the website in http://who.is
If the website owner does not use WHOIS Guard Protect, you can find out all information about him (name, phone, address, etc.)
